Our boys hit the road for our longest away day in the calendar. Coming up against a quality side in Bendigo, our boys were keen to put on a show. In a hard-fought match between the Deakin Ducks and Bendigo City FC, both teams showed resilience and determination, ultimately ending in a 1-1 draw.
Bendigo City FC dominated the first half, taking the lead with a goal off a corner in the 25th minute. The Ducks struggled to create chances, facing strong defensive play from Bendigo. Their ability to keep possession and break us down was on full display and the Ducks struggled for a response.
The second half saw a turnaround in the Ducks’ performance, as they applied relentless pressure on Bendigo’s defense. The Ducks’ efforts paid off late in the game, with Alex Millwood scoring a scramble off a corner to level the score.
Despite both teams pushing for a winning goal in the remaining minutes, neither could find the breakthrough, and the match ended in a well-deserved draw.
