Juniors

In 2023, the Deakin Ducks embarked on a new chapter with the launch of the Miniroos Junior program, the Ducklings. Committed to nurturing the next generation of soccer stars and providing children the opportunity to participate in organized sport, the club welcomed athletes under 7 to join the Ducklings. The introduction of the junior program not only bolstered the club’s commitment to community engagement in the Waurn Ponds area, but also laid the foundation for sustained growth in the years to come.

The Ducklings are a vital component of the club, providing access to aspiring soccer players to hone their skills, make new friends, be active and develop a love for the World Game. Coaches and mentors from the club’s senior teams actively participate in the development of the Ducklings, fostering a sense of community and shared identity within the Ducks family.

2025 saw the program grow, with Under 11’s, two Under 9’s, in addition to two Under 7’s and our Under 6 Miniroos Kickoff Program. We are excited to continue to offer football for children in the Waurn Ponds and surrounding area.

In 2026 there are changes to the Juniors Competitions and we will be looking to field teams for Under 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11. 

 Our juniors were fortunate enough to get to play at half time of the Matilda’s vs France friendly on Marvel Stadium in 2023! We also had a couple of junior Ducks walk out with the Matildas in their friendly against Chinese Taipei at GMHBA Stadium. We are excited to see our junior program grow as we look to cater for junior players across the region.
